How This Started
My fitness routine began at a modest gym near Fitness Plaza, North Lane in London. It wasn’t perfect, but it was approachable, budget-friendly, and helped me stay consistent.
After that gym shut, I saw the fitness scene in United Kingdom accelerate. New clubs appeared, fresh concepts emerged, and marketing grew louder than actual member experiences.
I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting down notes after each visit. Those notes eventually formed this site, meant to help others make more informed choices.
My Approach to Reviews
All reviews here come from actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I concentrate on practical details that matter when picking a membership.
When I review a fitness center, I typically:
- invest enough time to grasp routines, peak times, and patterns
- go on different days and at various times
- try multiple training formats and coaches
- use amenities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
- consult other members about what's consistent and what's not
- take notes right after each visit
I refresh reviews when major changes occur—renovations, management shifts, pricing changes, or new facilities. Each piece lists the most recent update date so you know how up-to-date the information is.
What I Look For
My priorities may differ from yours, but these are the factors I consider most when assessing a gym:
Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with clear boundaries and a tranquil vibe?
Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?
Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?
Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.
Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.
Beyond the Gym
Outside of training and writing, I live and work in London. This project is here to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people looking for the right environment.
